Capturing a unique expression of New Zealand. Te Wai includes Kawakawa, Manuka, Kowhai, Mamaku, and Pohutukawa infused in pure New Zealand water.
New Zealand’s unspoilt natural environment and unique flora and fauna serve as a constant source of inspiration for Te Wai.
Kawakawa
(Macropiper Excelsum)
is one of the most important herbs in traditional Maori medicine. Its antimicrobial and analgesic properties make it useful for treating infections, and it is helpful in reducing inflammation of skin conditions.
Manuka
(Leptospermum Scoparium)
was used topically in traditional Maori herbal medicine for abrasions and wounds. The plant has anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anti-inflammatory, anti-acne, anti-wrinkles, astringent, and assists with healing.
Mamaku
(Cyathea Medullaris)
was also used topically in traditional Maori herbal medicine as a dressing for sores and chaffs. Mamaku constituents offer soothing and moisturising properties.
Kowhai
(Sophora Microphylla)
was used for itchy skin complaints, abrasions as well as musculoskeletal aches and pain. The plant’s natural antimicrobial properties halt the growth of micro-organisms like bacteria or fungi, making it the perfect cleaning and moisturising agent.
Pohutakawa
(Metrosideros Excelsas)
was chosen because the bioactive extract from the flowers of the Pohutukawa is conditioning, deeply moisturising, antioxidant-packed and antiseptic. It also promotes cell regeneration and soft, youthful skin.
